它可以讓語言更有魅力，也更有趣味性
在英語中，也有很多短語都有比喻的含義
大體上可分為明喻simile、暗喻metaphor
明喻是用as、like等詞將具有某種共同特征的
兩種不同事物連接起來的一種修辭手法
表達方法是：A像B
今天就來了解幾個明喻相關表達
01 sell like hot cakes
暢銷
「暢銷」的英文表達中用了一個比喻
sell like hot cakes「賣得像剛出爐的蛋糕一樣」
These new products are selling like hot cakes.
這些新產品十分暢銷。
對話
A：How about the sale of this book？
這本書賣得怎麼樣？
B：It sells like hot cakes.
它非常暢銷。
如果想要表示「已售完」時
可以用be out of stock這個短語
02 as clear as day
一清二楚；容易理解
字面意思就是：像白天一樣清楚
英文釋義：very easy to understand
I can remember as clear as day how i wanted to cancel my lesson that morning.
我可以非常清晰地記得那天早上我如何想取消我的課程。
03 look like a million dollars
顯得容光煥發，看上去十分漂亮
不要直接翻譯成：看起來像一百萬美元
英文釋義：to look very good
As she stepped out in her wedding dress， she looked like a million dollars.
當她穿著婚紗走出來時，看起來美呆了。
04 as light as a feather
輕如鴻毛
直譯：像羽毛一樣輕
light：形容詞，輕的；輕松的
Since she is as light as a feather， I had no problem in carrying her all the way to the hospital.
因為她的身體非常輕，所以我一口氣就把她背到了醫院，一點也不感到累。
as light as a feather可以形容各式各樣的東西
如果是形容食品，意思是：清淡的
The white chocolate cake is not that sweet and is as light as a feather.
那個白巧克力蛋糕不是太甜，非常清淡。
05 like a cat on hot bricks
焦躁不安；熱鍋上的螞蟻
直譯：就像熱磚上的貓
She was like a cat on hot bricks before her driving test.
她考駕駛執照前十分緊張不安。
You are like a cat on hot bricks with your running to the window to look for the postman.
你老是跑到窗口去望郵遞員，真像熱鍋上的螞蟻。
還有另外的表達方式：
like a cat on hot cakes
like an ant on a hot pan
06 as free as a bird
自由自在，無拘無束
直譯：像小鳥一樣自由
But In fact， I like that feel of as free as a bird.
但事實上，我還是喜歡那種一個人自由自在的感覺！
You are free of constraints， making you feel 「as free as a bird」.
現在的你無拘無束，就像一只自由的小鳥。
